Define curls with a styling brush

Choose styling-brush definition when you want a shaped brush edge to separate already-prepared wet waves, curls or coils into curl groups before drying.

Step by step

  1. A woman with wet loose curls supports one detangled side section while holding a curl-styling brush nearby.

    Prepare one wet section

    • Clip away the rest and confirm the section is fully detangled.

    Glide through once

    • Place the brush below the roots, then angle it slightly so the section meets one curved defining edge.
    • Support the section with one hand and glide the edge and bristles steadily through to the ends with the other, without forcing a snag.
  3. A woman releases a formed wet curl group from a styling brush and cups the ends with her free hand.

    Release the curl group

    • Let the section slide clear of the brush without stretching it apart.
    • Cup the ends and scrunch upward once.
    • Repeat the prepare, glide and release steps until every intended section forms a curl group.
  4. A woman holds both hands away from several defined wet curl groups while clipped hair remains ready for the next brush pass.

    Let the groups dry

    • Repeat on the remaining sections without brushing the finished groups again.
    • Leave the curl groups still while they dry.
    • After the hair is fully dry, arrange only where needed with your fingers and collect the brush and sectioning clips.

About 15–40 min hands-on for dividing and brush-shaping a full head of detangled wet curls, then cleanup. Prior washing, product application and subsequent drying are separate.
