Wash and dry installed extensions

Keep the head upright, cleanse without scrubbing bonds, condition away from attachments, blot, and dry attachment areas completely by the supplier method.

Water lands on the back of the crown and runs downward through installed extension lengths while the head stays upright.

Step by step

  1. One hand supports installed extensions while an extension brush clears the free lengths below the bonds.

    Prepare dry hair and attachments

    • Read the supplier directions and confirm the system is cleared for washing.
    • With dry hair, support above each attachment row and brush gently from ends upward using the approved extension brush.
    • Set shampoo, conditioner, towel and dryer within reach before wetting hair.

    Wash upright and condition away from bonds

    • Keep your head upright and direct water downward through roots and lengths.
    • Use the approved shampoo with smooth downward finger contact; do not scrub or tangle attachment rows.
    • Rinse, then place approved conditioner only where the supplier allows, keeping it off bonds or tapes unless permitted.
  3. Both hands press a clean towel around the rinsed lengths without twisting the attachments.

    Rinse and blot without twisting

    • Rinse downward until no visible product remains between rows or through the ends.
    • Support the lengths and press with a clean towel; do not rub, twist or wring.
    • Separate attachment rows gently with fingertips so air can reach them.
  4. One hand separates extension rows while the other moves a dryer over the attachment areas.

    Dry attachment areas completely

    • Use the supplier-approved dryer setting and direction, usually low or medium heat followed by cool air.
    • Support hair above the attachments while moving airflow along each row; do not hold heat in one spot.
    • Check every reachable row for remaining dampness, then brush only as the supplier directs.

About 35–75 min hands-on for brushing supported lengths, washing, conditioning, rinsing, blotting and drying attachment rows. Add label waits, breaks and any remaining drying required by the supplier.
