Blow-dry with a round brush

Use a round brush and manual-confirmed unheated cool/cold airflow in a straight-through pass on one mostly dry, reachable section. This is a cooling and finishing pass, not a blowout: do not use heat, lift roots, wind hair or expect a shaped result.

Step by step

  1. A person with a small damp hair section over one shoulder prepares a round brush and unplugged dryer on a dry bathroom counter.

    Confirm cool airflow and set up one section

    • Start with loose, detangled hair that is mostly dry. With the dryer off, read its manual and identify its cool/cold unheated airflow mode; do not assume a button is cool.
    • If the cool control must be held, use this guide only if you can hold it while keeping a secure dryer grip and a light brush grip. Otherwise choose another method.
    • In a dry space, clip the rest away and bring one small section forward. Keep the intake clear and place the brush at mids or ends, away from the scalp.

    Make one light, straight pass

    • Turn on only the confirmed unheated cool or cold airflow mode. Hold the brush beneath the visible section and keep the nozzle above it, aimed down the hair toward the ends.
    • Move both tools from mids through the ends with light tension. Let hair pass once over the barrel’s outside; do not turn the brush or let hair encircle it.
    • If you cannot keep the manual-confirmed unheated cool/cold mode, a secure grip and the intake clear together, switch the dryer off and stop. Do not substitute heat.

    The photo shows one visible side section. Bring a back section forward, or use basic drying, rather than working where you cannot see.

    Clear the brush, then check the section

    • Switch the dryer off and place it on a stable dry surface. Glide the brush straight out in the direction of the hair; there is no wrapped section to unwind.
    • Feel the section after the pass. Repeat only with manual-confirmed unheated cool/cold airflow if it is still damp, or leave it to air-dry; do not use heat.
    • Repeat only on other chosen reachable sections. Leave the rest to air-dry if needed; after the last pass, switch off and unplug the dryer before cleanup.
    • If the brush snags, keep the dryer off, put it down and gently detangle without pulling before deciding whether to continue.

About 3–10 min hands-on for setup, cool-air brush passes over a few reachable sections and cleanup. Start with mostly dry, detangled hair; leave any remaining damp hair to air-dry.
