Wash with a shampoo bar
Build a modest lather from a solid shampoo bar, keep the cleansing work at the scalp, rinse thoroughly, and leave the bar to dry.

Step by step
STEP 1 OF 3Wet hair and the bar
- Wet the scalp and hair completely with comfortably warm water.
- Wet the shampoo bar, then move out of the water stream.
- Choose the label-approved method: lather between wet palms or make a few light passes over reachable scalp areas.
STEP 2 OF 3Work lather over the scalp
- Set the bar down on a draining dish before using both hands.
- Massage the lather over the front, sides, crown and nape with finger pads.
- Keep lengths hanging; if the bar catches or pulls, stop direct contact and use hand-built lather.
STEP 3 OF 3Rinse and dry the bar
- Rinse the scalp thoroughly and let water carry lather down the lengths.
- Continue until no visible suds remain.
- Rinse the bar briefly and leave it on a draining dish away from standing water.
About 4–7 min hands-on for wetting hair and bar, making and distributing lather, rinsing and putting the bar to drain. Add any label wait, bar drying and subsequent conditioning or hair drying.
You’re done when…
No visible suds remain, the hair was not pulled by the bar, and the rinsed bar is draining safely.
