Rinse shampoo and conditioner completely

Move water through the roots, underneath and ends until visible lather or conditioner is gone from every reachable area.

Both hands divide long wet hair loosely as water runs downward through the lengths.

Step by step

  1. One hand lifts wet hair at the crown while a handheld sprayer rinses the roots underneath.
    STEP 1 OF 3

Open the roots to the water

    • Face a deep basin and direct comfortably warm water over the crown.
    • Lift loose hair at the crown and nape with one hand so water reaches underneath.
    • Turn your head slightly to rinse each side and the hairline, keeping runoff out of your eyes.
  2. Both hands divide long wet hair loosely as water runs downward through the lengths.
    STEP 2 OF 3

    Move water through the lengths

    • Let the water travel downward through the hair instead of rubbing lengths together.
    • For dense or long hair, divide it loosely with your fingers and rinse one reachable area at a time.
    • Gently squeeze the ends once to move product-rich water out; do not twist or wring.
  3. Fingertips check behind the ears and at the nape for remaining rinse-out product.
    STEP 3 OF 3

    Check hidden areas and finish

    • Feel behind the ears, under the crown and at the nape for obvious slick product or trapped foam.
    • Rinse again wherever visible suds or conditioner remain; a squeaky feel is not required.
    • Rinse product from your hands and the shower floor before stepping out.

About 1–3 min hands-on for one thorough rinse through roots, hidden areas and lengths, plus spill cleanup. Begin after the label's contact time; a shampoo rinse and a conditioner rinse each take their own time.

Practical editorial estimate, not measured. The range is per rinse, not both product stages together; dense hair or persistent residue can take longer.

You’re done when…

No visible suds or conditioner remain at the hairline, crown, behind the ears, nape or ends, and the shower floor is clear of slippery product.
