How we build the product library
What a record tells you, what remains unknown, and how to report a correction.
Who maintains it
Hair You Love is founded and maintained by Dustin Kirk. Questions and corrections go to hello@hairyoulove.com. The library brings product information together to help you make a hair-care decision.
Sources and coverage
Product records bring together available brand and retailer information, ingredient lists, directions and shopping details. Check the sources and coverage shown on the individual page. Some ingredient records are labeled seed entries with sourcing in progress; their presence does not mean a complete ingredient review has been performed.
Coverage varies between records. An unknown value is not proof that an ingredient or property is absent. A product appearing in the library is not an endorsement, and a product missing from it is not a judgment about its quality.
Names, versions and dates
Check the exact product name and the ingredient list on your own package. A similar name, different market, size or newer formula may refer to a different version. Prices and availability can change; check the retailer before buying. A source or review date describes that record, not a guarantee that a brand has made no later change.
What a formula can tell you
Ingredient lists help identify the kinds of cleansing, conditioning and styling functions a formula may provide. They do not disclose every concentration, manufacturing detail or interaction. List position alone cannot establish a precise amount.
Matching recorded functions does not prove that two products feel or perform the same. Comparisons help you examine differences, directions, preferences and price; your own experience remains relevant. A suitability explanation depends on the hair details you provide.
Corrections and independence
If a record differs from your package or a current source, send the page address, exact product/version and a link or clear photo showing the discrepancy. We check the identity and evidence before changing the record. Product recommendations are separate from whether you buy anything; you can keep the products that work for you.
