Style the back of your head with two mirrors
Use this setup to locate a back section, put the hand mirror down, work by touch with both hands, then put the tool down before checking again.

Step by step
STEP 1 OF 3Check the rear view
- Stand or sit in front of a stable wall mirror. Hold the hand mirror behind and slightly to one side until the target area at the back is visible.
- Set the hand mirror down on a stable surface before touching the hair; never hold a mirror and work with a tool at the same time.
STEP 2 OF 3Put the mirror down and section by touch
- With the hand mirror down, use both hands to separate one reachable back section. Clip neighboring hair away if the planned style needs it.
- Pause and use the two-mirror view again only after both hands and every tool are down.
STEP 3 OF 3Work, then check
- With the hand mirror down, use the selected comb or brush in one hand while the other steadies the back section. Stop if the reach strains your shoulder or pulls the hair.
- Put the tool down before lifting the hand mirror for the final check. Repeat the work-and-check cycle rather than combining it.
About 2–5 min hands-on for setting the mirror view, making a simple adjustment to one reachable back section and checking it. The rest of the chosen hairstyle is separate; repeat checks add time.
You’re done when…
The target area is visible in the final mirror check, the style is secure and comfortable, and every tool is down before the mirror is lifted.
