Change or zigzag your part
Use this cosmetic adjustment when you want a different fall direction or a less continuous visible part line.

Step by step
STEP 1 OF 3Choose the new line
- Start on detangled dry loose hair. Put all heated tools away before changing the root line.
- Use the pointed tail only to draw a line; keep the teeth and point from scraping the scalp.
STEP 2 OF 3Move or zigzag the part
- For a straight change, trace the new line from hairline toward crown and lift hair to each side with the comb tail.
- For a zigzag, draw a few shallow alternating angles, placing each released section on the opposite side.
STEP 3 OF 3Check the roots
- Set the comb down and use fingertips to settle the roots on both sides without pulling.
- Check comfort and symmetry from the front. If the line exposes a tender spot, return to a comfortable part.
About 30 sec–2 min hands-on for drawing a new straight or shallow zigzag part and settling the roots. Start with dry, detangled hair; drying a resistant part into place is separate.
You’re done when…
The new part line is settled, both sides lie in the intended direction, and the scalp feels comfortable.
