Brush short hair along a wave pattern

Use a gentle, brief brushing session to align short hair in its chosen wave direction. Consistent paths matter more than hard pressure or a large stroke count.

Step by step

  1. An adult guides a soft brush forward over short damp hair while following the crown direction.
    STEP 1 OF 2

Follow consistent paths with light contact

    • Lightly dampen short hair and use a clean soft brush. From the crown, guide the top forward and each side diagonally forward toward the cheek.
    • At the back, guide hair downward from the crown toward the nape. Lift and reset the brush between strokes; keep bristles off the ears and face.
    • Make only the passes needed to arrange the area. Stop for any scratching, soreness or catch; do not scrub back and forth or chase a stroke count.
  2. An adult checks the arranged short hair after setting the brush down.
    STEP 2 OF 2

Stop and let the hair dry

    • Set the brush down when the areas lie in their chosen directions. Let any dampness air-dry; do not keep brushing just to fill a time target.
    • Remove loose hairs from the brush after use and clean it according to its directions. Wash your hands if you used an optional styling product.

One brief handling session; no result timeline or required number of strokes.

Unmeasured editorial handling estimate for the stated scope. Familiarity, access and the item or hair being handled change the time.

You’re done when…

The selected areas lie in consistent directions without scalp discomfort; the brush is set down and damp hair can finish drying.
