Blend short hairs into a style

Use this when shorter hairs can be directed toward the surrounding style but do not reach the main tie or shape. Their appearance does not establish why they are short.

Guiding shorter crown hairs toward nearby lengths with a soft brush.

Step by step

  1. Isolating shorter crown hairs with fingertips.
    STEP 1 OF 3

    Separate the short hairs

    • On dry finished hair, use fingertips to identify the short section and the direction of the surrounding style.
    • Do not diagnose why it is short. Leave tender, inflamed or rapidly changing areas alone and seek professional advice if concerned.
  2. Guiding shorter crown hairs toward nearby lengths with a soft brush.
    STEP 2 OF 3

    Use a thin product film

    • Apply the smallest label-directed amount of a compatible styler to fingertips or a soft brush.
    • Guide the short hairs in the direction of the longer section with light contact; avoid scraping the scalp or pulling the hairline.
  3. Checking a loosely anchored crown section without pulling the hairline.
    STEP 3 OF 3

    Set without strain

    • Tuck the ends beneath nearby loose hair or cross one smooth pin over the section if the style permits.
    • Turn your head and check for pulling. Remove the pin or soften the product if the area feels tight or stiff.

About 30 sec–2 min hands-on for guiding a small regrowth area with product and securing a pin if needed. Start with dry, styled hair.

Practical editorial estimate, not measured. One local adjustment should be brief; more scattered areas or a pin reset can take longer.

You’re done when…

The short hairs rest with the surrounding style without a stiff patch, tight pin or strained hairline.
