Attach and remove a wraparound ponytail
Make a comfortable supporting ponytail, seat the hairpiece’s combs and close its wrap with loose hair clear. Unpin and unwrap it completely before easing the combs out.
Step by step
STEP 1 OF 3Make a comfortable supporting ponytail
- Start with dry detangled hair and a separately detangled hairpiece. Inspect its combs and hook-and-loop wrap, and identify the cover strand.
- Make a low or other easy-to-reach ponytail with a soft tie. It must hold comfortably without pulling at the roots.
- Keep the piece’s combs, cover strand and supplied pins within reach. If your hair cannot support its weight comfortably, do not attach it.
STEP 2 OF 3Seat combs and close the wrap
- Support the hairpiece’s weight with one hand. With the other, seat its central comb beneath the ponytail tie as directed, keeping teeth off your scalp.
- Seat any side combs by the maker’s layout. Keep loose hair out of the hook-and-loop tabs, then wrap and fasten the base without pulling your ponytail tighter.
- Wind the attached cover strand around the fastening and secure its end with the supplied pins as directed. Keep pins in hair, not against your scalp.
- Lower your hands and move your head gently. If it pulls, slips or feels heavy, support it and take it off.
STEP 3 OF 3Unpin, unwrap and ease out combs
- Support the added ponytail’s weight. Remove every pin from the cover strand, then unwind that strand to expose the fastening.
- Separate the hook-and-loop tabs slowly, freeing caught hair as you go. Unwrap the base completely while keeping the hairpiece supported.
- Ease the side combs and central comb out along their entry paths. Lift the detached piece away, then unwind your own soft tie and put the items away.
Fitting and later removal; separate detangling, sizing and styling are not included.
You’re done when…
The hook-and-loop base is covered, the piece stays comfortable during gentle head movement and each fastening can be reversed without pulling hair.
