Apply a pre-wash bond-care treatment

Apply a compatible bond-care treatment to damp hair before shampoo, then rinse, wash and condition.

Smoothing pre-wash treatment through a supported damp section.

Step by step

  1. Blotting damp lengths with a towel before applying a pre-wash treatment.
    STEP 1 OF 3

    Dampen and divide

    • Read your own treatment’s full sequence, amount, placement, dwell and frequency. Check that it matches this damp pre-shampoo method.
    • Dampen hair and squeeze out dripping water; bring lengths forward in manageable portions.
    • Keep the treatment, shampoo, conditioner and a timer within reach; open containers before your hands become slippery.
  2. Smoothing pre-wash treatment through a supported damp section.
    STEP 2 OF 3

    Apply and wait

    • Spread the label’s amount over your hands, put the bottle down and work it through each section in the directed areas.
    • Separate sections with your fingers to reach their inner hair; do not rub treatment into the scalp.
    • Leave hair relaxed for the label’s dwell. This single-product method does not include added heat, overnight wear or mixing treatments.
  3. Rinsing pre-wash treatment from a supported section over a home basin.
    STEP 3 OF 3

    Rinse, shampoo and condition

    • Rinse the treatment thoroughly with running water, lifting sections so their underside is reached.
    • Shampoo and rinse as your products direct, then apply and rinse conditioner. This treatment does not replace those steps.
    • Close containers, wash your hands and clean any slippery residue from the wash area.

About 12–20 min hands-on for dampening, application, treatment rinsing, shampooing, conditioning and cleanup. Add the treatment and conditioner label waits; later drying is separate.

Practical editorial estimate, not measured. This is a complete multi-product wash sequence, not just treatment application; long or dense hair can take longer.

You’re done when…

The pre-wash treatment is removed, and the subsequent shampoo and conditioner are finished. You cannot confirm bond changes by touch.
