Rinse and flush a water styling mister

Clear leftover water from a refillable hair mister and rinse its spray path. This guide is for a bottle used only with water; follow its maker’s deeper-cleaning instructions when needed.

Step by step

  1. Hands rinse an open styling-water bottle while its detached spray head rests on a clean towel.
    STEP 1 OF 2

    Empty and rinse the reservoir

    • Check the maker’s care directions. Empty leftover water and unscrew only the spray head or other parts intended to be removable.
    • Rinse the bottle with fresh water at the permitted temperature. Swirl gently and empty it; keep the spray head on a clean surface.
    • If you see residue or notice an odor, stop and use the maker’s deeper-cleaning procedure. Plain rinsing does not establish disinfection.
  2. Hands operate the reassembled water mister over a sink to flush fresh water through the nozzle.
    STEP 2 OF 2

Flush the spray path and drain

    • Add fresh rinsing water and reconnect the head. Point it into the sink, away from your face, and work the trigger to flush the spray path.
    • Stop if the trigger jams or flow stays blocked. Do not probe the nozzle with a pin or force apart sealed parts.
    • Empty the bottle. Drain the head as its instructions permit, then leave the bottle and removable parts to air-dry on a clean towel before storage.

Rinsing and flushing one water-only mister, plus drainage and drying time.

Unmeasured editorial handling estimate for the stated scope. Familiarity, access and the item or hair being handled change the time.

You’re done when…

Fresh water travels through the spray path normally, and the empty bottle and permitted removable parts are draining cleanly before storage.
