Plan product skin and strand checks
Before trying a product that requires pre-use checks, make room for every instruction. Skin checks and strand checks answer different questions; neither is a guarantee that later use will be trouble-free.

Step by step
STEP 1 OF 3Read both kinds of directions
- Find the full current instructions for the exact product and shade. Identify any skin-reaction check and any separate hair-strand check.
- If the directions are missing or unclear, pause and ask the manufacturer before using or testing the product.
STEP 2 OF 3Record the required sequence
- Write down each check’s preparation, location, amount, waiting period, removal and signs that mean stop, exactly as instructed.
- Plan them early enough to finish before full application. Do not replace the stated skin site or waiting period with an online shortcut.
STEP 3 OF 3Use the check result cautiously
- Follow the separate label procedures only if they apply to you. Record what happened without calling a skin check a hair result or vice versa.
- If anything reacts or remains uncertain, stop and get the appropriate professional advice; do not proceed just because the planned application date arrived.
About 3–10 min hands-on for reading the exact instructions and writing a skin- and strand-check schedule. Performing each check, its required wait and any drying or professional follow-up are additional.
You’re done when…
You have the exact separate check instructions and enough time to follow them, or you have paused use for clarification.
