Pack a cooled hair tool and cord

Wait until the unplugged appliance is fully cool and dry, then arrange its lead loosely beside it and place both in roomy dry storage.

Step by step

  1. An adult lays the unplugged lead in loose folds beside a cool hair appliance.
    STEP 1 OF 2

Cool fully and loosen the lead

    • Switch off and unplug after use, holding the plug body. Let the tool cool fully on the resting surface its maker specifies, away from children and water.
    • Pack only when the appliance and cord are completely cool and dry. If damaged or behaving abnormally, keep it out of use and contact the maker.
    • Place it on a dry table and ease the lead out without stretching its ends. Follow the original fold or storage pattern given in its manual.
  2. An adult places a cold hair appliance and its loosely folded lead in a roomy open case.
    STEP 2 OF 2

Place loose folds beside the tool

    • Guide the lead into broad relaxed loops or folds beside the tool, as its maker directs. Do not wind it around the appliance or your hand.
    • Lift the cold tool by its body into a roomy dry case or compartment. Place the lead and plug alongside, leaving slack at both cord entry points.
    • Close the case only if nothing is crushed, sharply bent or pulling. Use larger storage if needed, and keep the packed item in a dry place away from children.

Loose cord arrangement and packing; cooling and any prior cleaning/drying add time.

Unmeasured editorial handling estimate for the stated scope. Familiarity, access and the item or hair being handled change the time.

You’re done when…

The cold dry tool rests securely, its cord lies in loose folds beside it and neither lead entry point nor plug is squeezed by the closed storage.
