Fit and remove a full-head work hairnet

Practice fitting the covering your workplace specifies so the fringe, sides and nape stay enclosed. Choose enough room for your hair rather than flattening it with a smaller net.

Step by step

  1. An adult checks the comfortable edge of a full-head blue mesh hairnet, with all short hair contained.
    STEP 1 OF 2

Enclose the hair and check the edge

    • With clean hands, inspect the specified net. Gather long hair so the edge can sit flat at the neckline; open the net in the orientation its maker directs.
    • Place the front edge beyond the fringe and draw the net over the crown and nape. Tuck side hairs inside and position the edge as the covering directions require.
    • Check front, sides and rear in a fixed mirror or camera view. All hair must fit inside without pulling; follow the workplace check before beginning the task.
  2. An adult holds a removed blue mesh hairnet away from the head after lifting its edge clear.
    STEP 2 OF 2

Lift off in the designated area

    • After use, leave the work area and follow its removal procedure. Lift the edge clear of the hairline and ease the net off without dragging it through the hair.
    • Handle or discard it as directed; do not wash a single-use net for reuse. Release your hair fastener if used and wash your hands.

Fitting and removal; workplace preparation and handwashing can add time.
