Apply temporary hair color with a wand
Use light controlled strokes on visible dry strands when you want a small temporary touch-up. Support longer sections and follow your wand’s own blending and drying instructions.
Step by step
STEP 1 OF 3Read the label and expose the strand
- Complete the label’s tests and read its drying and removal directions. Protect clothing and select a small visible dry section.
- Open the wand and set its tube upright on a stable counter. Keep the brush away from your eyes and use only on the scalp hair the product is intended for.
STEP 2 OF 3Brush color onto selected hair
- For short hair, use small light strokes over the chosen strands. For longer hair, support the section and stroke from the upper area toward the end as directed.
- Build only where needed, checking the coverage between passes. Keep the brush on hair, not irritated skin; do not drag through a knot.
STEP 3 OF 3Blend, recap and allow the stated finish
- Recap the wand. If its label calls for brushing to even the finish, use a clean suitable brush gently through the coated section.
- Allow any stated drying time before touching clothes or bedding. Clean skin transfer promptly using the label’s method and wash your hands.
- Shampoo and rinse the color out at the directed time. Do not scrub the scalp or assume a product labeled temporary will leave no stain on every hair color.
A small reachable area, excluding any prior label-directed test and later washing.
You’re done when…
The selected strands have light even coverage, skin transfer is cleared as directed, the wand is capped and the color is removed at the directed shampoo.
