Wash and moisturize a shaved head or short regrowth

Gently cleanse visible scalp and very short hair, blot dry, add only a compatible cosmetic moisturizer if needed, and cover the scalp in sun.

Both hands press a clean soft towel over the rinsed scalp without rubbing.

Step by step

  1. Flat finger pads gently cleanse visible scalp and very short regrowth at a basin.
    STEP 1 OF 3

    Cleanse with light contact

    • Confirm any treatment-related restrictions have cleared and read the cleanser directions.
    • Wet the scalp with comfortably warm water and use a small label amount with flat finger pads.
    • Move over the whole visible scalp without nails, scrubs or repeated rubbing.
  2. Both hands press a clean soft towel over the rinsed scalp without rubbing.
    STEP 2 OF 3

    Rinse and blot dry

    • Rinse until no visible cleanser remains around the hairline, ears and nape.
    • Press a clean soft towel over the scalp instead of rubbing.
    • Let the scalp finish drying before applying a leave-on product or head covering.
  3. Fingertips smooth a small optional cosmetic moisturizer over dry scalp beside a wide-brimmed hat.
    STEP 3 OF 3

Moisturize if needed and cover in sun

    • If the scalp feels dry and a compatible cosmetic moisturizer is permitted, smooth on only its label amount.
    • Let the product settle before putting on a clean, comfortable covering.
    • For sun exposure, use a comfortably fitting wide-brimmed hat or follow dermatologist-recommended scalp sunscreen directions.

About 2–4 min hands-on for gentle scalp cleansing, rinsing, blotting and optional moisturizer and covering. Add any product settling or final scalp drying.

Practical editorial estimate, not measured. A shaved head or very short regrowth has little hair to section or rinse; the task is shorter than a full-length wash.

You’re done when…

The scalp is clean, dry and comfortable, any moisturizer stayed within directions, and exposed scalp has a sun-cover plan.
